In my final essay of this series, I will be discussing why curses do not work and why blessings, though not as easy to formulate, are the best strategy for overcoming demons.  Next week I am planning to write about the symbolism of masks and why they have precious little to do with the actual preservation of human health.

The class of people who bought into and perpetuated the COVID-19 phenomenon were and are largely salaried professionals who grew up in environments of extreme privilege yet see themselves as the middle class because they don't have as much as the successful Hollywood director or tech startup guru. We will call them the PMC or the Professional Managerial Class. PMCs grew up under the umbrella of wealth.

Shielded by luxury, the PMC finds no comfort in excesses of basics that people of lower classes cannot take for granted. Food strewn about their personal landscape is only an opportunity to be tempted and to become fat. Shelter or the lack of shelter isn't a concern either: there's almost always a house and/or its proceeds donated by a doting, deceased family member to fall back on and if all else fails, stocks and bonds can be sold off to provide a safety net. As far as jobs are concerned, their class works hard, but the work isn't a quarter as challenging as the benefit free, do-it-all-and-get-yelled-at-anyway convenience store job or the debasement of the retail sales floor. They are drowning in perks they did nothing to earn, and they believe they hit a home run when they were born on third base.

Poor Little Rich Kids

Despite the freedom material wealth affords, PMCs are miserable. Their lives suck. They battle severe depression that is always teetering on the knife edge of a three month-long descent into a black hole that ends with a bottle of Azipam chased with a quart of Grey Goose. They are perpetually anxious, tormented by a nearly unbroken fight or flight response gone haywire. They are angry. Some retreat into social justice activism, which helps to allay the suicidal despair I mentioned above and also provides an outlet for the energy generated by constant anxiety. Others go the sleazy Ahrimanic evil route, like Jeffrey Epstein, who allegedly needed orgasms with three young teenage girls per day in order to function.

Others still turn to curses. Michael Hughes is the most obvious example with his trash compactor hexes of Trump that combine mismatched planets, inauspicious moons, whatever ancient god or goddess that seemed cool that day, and high school poetry magazine submissions disguised as spells. His female counterparts stage their Satan-lite altars for Instagram, inflaming paranoid Christians while hoping to make enough money as witchy influencers despite not believing in the forces they invoke. Hughes and his pals engage in the formalized version of what regular media socialites do without the quasi-magical pomp and circumstance: they throw around bad intentions in public while sustaining the background belief that god does not exist and that karma does not apply to them. My theory is they have now done this enough times to attract and become infested by demons, a.k.a. large incorporeal beings who hate humanity and become invisible parasites upon those stupid or unfortunate enough to extend the invitation to feed.

Dissecting the Curse

The word "curse" has a murky etymology. In the University of Michigan Press's Middle English Compendium, the etymology of the word curse is attributed to the Latin "cursus" or "course" as in the Christian liturgy, implying a formula of readings performed four times a year.

My definition of a curse is an imposed cycle upon someone or something (places and objects can also be cursed) intended to punish the subject of the curse whenever they try to repeat the behavior the curser intends to prevent them from doing. If you've ever seen the Stanley Kubrick film A Clockwork Orange, Alex, a gleeful murderer and rapist, ends up being ineffectively punished via cruel attempts at aversion where he is trained to associate the his own violent behaviors with the physical pain delivered by his torturers. After a few close calls and a suicide attempt, a newly released "rehabilitated" Alex goes back to his old ways with renewed vigor.

In A Clockwork Orange, Alex is put through a curse. His torturers who try to reprogram his mind via cycles of punishment only serve to create a better and more shady criminal. Prison sentences are curses laid upon transgressors by the State. Though they are meant to trap the prisoner in a place where he is ostensibly prevented from committing crimes, we can all agree the worst types of crimes, such as pedophilia, have high recidivism rates. Prison doesn't help anyone except those who get off on punishing others.

When we look at the anatomy of a curse, is the point of it to prevent the offender from reoffending, or is it to provide a dopamine rush of self-righteousness in the curse-thrower who believes they are doing good?

But Kimberly, you ask, if cursing is like heroin for the self-righteous and prison doesn't work, how should we handle murderers? Well, personally, I'm all for Hammurabi's Code type punishments for murder. Hang a murderer and in five minutes or less, we can let God sort it out. Some crimes are worse than others and it is my belief that the western approach is hard where it should be soft and soft where it should be hard. The bottom line is that most of us are not about to go to prison for our crimes, so we need to identify other examples of what cursing entails and other patterns where intention is aimed as an imposed cycle of hurt.

Most cunning serpent, you shall no more dare to deceive the human race, persecute the Church, torment God's elect and sift them as wheat.

The Most High God commands you, + He with whom, in your great insolence, you still claim to be equal.

"God who wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." [1 Tim. 2:4)

-Excerpt from the Catholic Exorcism Prayer

Mad As Hell

Before I go all love and light on you, I would like to share how angry I am at my leftist friends and acquaintances. Well, clearly I wouldn't write five articles on accusing leftists of being possessed and obsessed by demons if I didn't have a modicum of anger to stew. Leftists caused and elongated the shutdown that nearly took my livelihood. They succeeded in ruining and damaging millions of small businesses via exacerbated panic and then rioting, they killed people of every color under the banners of BLM and Antifa, and they had the gall to lie about it, calling the rioters "peaceful protestors" and mask wearing "scientific". Though I do blame their behavior on the demons who I believe are infesting them, they still bear the burden of ultimate responsibility for the way they have carried on in the last four years.

I'm done with them. I would much rather be alone than have friends of such low, down-with-the-demons character. My strategy for dealing with leftists, though I don't necessarily recommend it to anyone, is this:

-If the person is someone I do not know, for instance, a random social justice type on Facebook who I wouldn't recognize by name, I look for signs of Trump derangement, pro-BLM signaling, or mask wearing. If they have any of the above, I immediately block them.

-If the person is an acquaintance and I see the above signs, I consider blocking them and I refuse any form of conversation about the above topics with threats that I will cut them out of my life. If I felt they could have a rational conversation, I wouldn't come down like a hammer. You cannot argue with the possessed -- it's an exorcism basic!

-If the person is my friend, I resolve to keep them at a careful distance until the election. If they confront me about any of the above topics, I flat out refuse to discuss it (um hello, they can read my blog) and put them on a top priority discursive meditation list to consider what to do about them after a few months have passed. I am considering cut and clear spells if it comes to that.

Gratitude: Easier Said Than Done

Curses are easy. Blessings are hard. Think of how readily an embarrassing or painful memory surfaces, or guilt. Now try to come up with a random, overwhelmingly positive memory. Not so quick, is it? As humans, we are hard-wired to recall pain, suffering, and misery. Happiness and bliss aren't remembered so much as chased.

If you want to be blessed, try gratitude. Gratitude is the first blessing. To give heartfelt thanks is to humble yourself before the gods, even if you don't technically believe in gods. The sheer ingratitude of our era explains a great deal of our cultural misery. A PMC friend once gratitude-shamed me when I thanked the owner of a now defunct hole in the wall restaurant for offering great vegan options. My friend snarkily commented, "You know you have to pay for the meal, right?" To him, every act of kindness is a transaction. Every gesture of grace boils down to a dollar sign, a tit for tat. This is the sort of person who becomes obsessed with getting something for nothing. Gratitude is a quaint bit of woo that comes from nothing and disappears into the gaping void.

As you can imagine, the inhabitant of such a gray and materialist world is a woeful being. They curse because they are angry and depressed (with a deep terror of being left completely alone) but it couldn't possibly be their own fault, so the answer is to foist the blame on someone else. The first "someone" they blame is their parents. The second is their society. They begin hexing and cursing their enemies, calling for various justices but actually just wanting to lash out and trap Trump or Bolsinaro or Johnson in a cycle of repeating physical and mental anguish. Of course by throwing that trash out there, they end up with blowback. Trash also stinks, and it attracts demons. Cursing does not work, and trying to bring someone down only results in your own downfall. If your enemy truly bothers you that much, ignore them and go around them if they stand in the way. If you truly hate the hatred, however, you will genuinely and honestly bless them.

It's pretty tough to bless a person or group you are mad at, so instead of that, I suggest starting with number one. I'm not suggesting you always bless yourself, though it would be kind of hilarious for all members of the public to shout "Bless me!" the next time they sneezed, however, I am suggesting the supplanting of the urge to curse with the immediate blessing of someone you love.

For instance, I stopped using curse words because I don't want to be like the people who seem to be the most predisposed towards foul language at the moment. For every urge to use a curse word, instead of putting a dollar in a jar, I try to say a kind or loving thing to the cherished people around me.

If you have no person or pet to bless, you can bless your place. Even if that place is a tent on the (rhymes with city) streets of the Castro district, you can bless it. You can get formal with frankincense and sage or you can informally steal a moment to focus your mind, asking the gods, Jesus, or whomever you acknowledge is smarter and better than you to bless your space. I am currently in the process of writing a book called Sacred Homemaking about the spirit of place and the ways we can go about amplifying the power of blessings via every trick in my arsenal and then some.

We all have something to be grateful for. When I was at my lowest point of depression in high school, I missed many opportunities to be grateful for my wonderful parents, my decent health, and the beautiful food that seemed to overflow from every cupboard. I am not saying that we should create snares of positivity for ourself that act like horse blinders -- being grateful should be accompanied by an assessment of that which does not elicit gratitude (does it spark joy? Yeah I had to go there). As a teen, I had a boyfriend I settled for, and I was lazy. My emotional storms and inability to look at my real blessings clouded my vision. I should have broken up with the boyfriend and dealt with my laziness and weakness instead of feeling guilty for wanting to be grateful for my devoted boyfriend and the wallowing in the luxury of being a lout.

To defeat the demons infesting the Left, we should become what demons cannot stand. If demons have turned leftists into babbling automatons of hate and authoritarianism, we can defeat them by becoming more thoughtful and analytical, employing discursive meditation every day. We can resolve to take a "you do you and I'll just go around if necessary" attitude no matter how disgusted we are by their behavior. Instead of cursing and throwing around ill will, we can bless. Give someone an authentic compliment. Share what you have. Pay it forward. Light a candle in the memory of someone you loved and take the time to remember why you loved them and how they brought you joy. Light a candle to a great philosopher or a hero. Kiss your dog or cat if they'll let you. Memorize a beautiful poem or a prayer. Recite it aloud. Take cursing out of your language. Learn an instrument so you can fill your home with music. Decorate a corner or a whole room with Aphrodite in mind. Pick up trash in the forest preserve. It's a small, blessed act of informal consecration that will encourage others to do the same. Look to ways to work the soil, even if it's only in the form of houseplants. Every little bit counts said the witch as she peed into the ocean. Be blessed!

When Indiana Department of Children’s Services family case manager Valerie Washington interviewed Latoya Ammons in the hospital in the Spring of 2012, Ammons’s seven year old son started growling with his teeth showing and his eyes rolled to the whites before strangling his nine year old brother. Adults had to pry his hands off his brother’s neck. Later that night, in front of DCS Case Manager Washington and registered nurse Willie Lee Walker, the nine year old sported a “weird grin” as he glided backward up a wall to the ceiling. He then flipped over his grandmother, landing on his feet.

When classic demonic possession reaches its acute phase, the victim often displays supernatural abilities such as uncanny physical strength, the ability to speak obscure languages, levitation, unnatural flexibility, insensitivity to pain, and clairvoyance. The demon flamboyantly showcases its power as the host struggles deep in the background, locked in a hidden prison of the subconscious. The host recedes as the demon pulls out all the stops in its hostile takeover.

The trouble with this sort of success is that there is only so much a fragile host body can take, and the huge amount of blowback generated from constant stunts grinds strained gears until shutdown is a preeminent risk.

Canceller becomes Cancellee

In the US, leftist cancel culture peaked in 2013. Barack Obama won his second term and The Weinstein Company was pumping out film projects featuring Oprah and Stephen Colbert and winning Cannes awards. Meanwhile, in less glamorous settings, a still-relevant Facebook was bubbling with glee over the cancellation of Paula Deen for using a racial slur.

The true driver of leftist hatred, classism, was hidden modestly under heavy veils.  None dared imagine a future outside of the clutches of the liberal elites who still controlled entertainment, news, medicine, and education. Those who spoke against the leftist narrative of political correctness had the luck of a bloody steak thrown into a tank full of piranhas. Occupy Wall Street was deflated and mocked for its Millennial whininess, and atheists Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and Neil DeGrasse-Tyson still hoped to surf the wake of Christopher Hitchens’s death.

2014 brought GamerGate, when leftist women trying to shoehorn themselves into video game culture got cancelled by tribes of young, angry men. By the end of 2015, Trump was president, and with him, the curtain was raised on over forty years of overclass prestidigitation, embezzlement, cheating, and arbitrage. The cancellers got cancelled. They could dish it, but they just couldn’t take it. A human being of indeterminate gender in a pricey green windbreaker screamed NO! into the sky and was immortalized as a meme. Another was unfairly captured in a moment of unflattering, neck-bulging emotion as The Triggered Feminist despite her calm demeanor during a protest.

It still took worldwide lockdowns perpetuated by nihilist scientists and morbidly bored Karens to red pill the average “essential” worker and his recently unemployed/underemployed lower class counterpart. Hollywood hypocrisy in the form of doofus actors singing the worst possible song at the worst possible time put the idea into Joe Average’s head that perhaps we are not all in this together, and perhaps it was finally time to admit publicly that one had voted for Trump and planned to do so again.

Parasite's Dilemma

Blowback accumulated over many years was hitting the Left in waves at this time. Impeachment backfired, Biden was caught doing to a young woman what Trump only bragged about, and Black Lives Matter quickly revealed itself as a depraved and violently racist murder cult. The demons of the Left had no choice but to unleash the hounds of hell. Desperate stunts serve as distracting fronts. Rioting may be the language of the unheard but it is also the language of demons who don’t want anyone to realize the host is nearly used up. A dead host is like a toppled wall to a mammoth colony of English ivy: it’s not usable.

The parasite is giving the host a good thrashing, beating it within an inch of its life before it attempts the jump to new and better hosts.

In an alleged response to the murder of a presumed innocent, the Left was responsible for riots that killed innocents, including children. Their looting and vandalism spree was literally anti-Christ, befouling and destroying statues of a loving God and his holy Mother with the feeble excuse that Jesus was portrayed with the wrong skin color. Fiery, apocalyptic, months-long mass tantrums were enabled by leftist media, governors, and mayors as cities burned and businesses that were just beginning to get to their feet again were reduced to broken glass and ashes.

Confused leftists spun their wheels in several “autonomous” zones in leftist-controlled cities, splattering their makeshift fortresses with obscene depictions of penises and copious uses of a word that rhymes with duck.

Leftists became consumed by large and small energy loops of their own making, returning to their folly like a dog to its vomit and subject to the law of ever-diminishing returns. Each time the same part of the closed loop of shock and control tactics was passed, the dopamine rush was slightly less satisfying, and it was certainly a faint shadow of its 2013 potency.

If There Be Trolls

There is a point in many video games, whether played solo or with many others online, where it is easy to become a troll. To become a troll, you do things you’re “not supposed” to do, such as kill the character you are supposed to save, torch the area you are supposed to canvas for treasure, or in the case of Grand Theft Auto V, Second Life, or DayZ, utilize  programming hacks to virtually “rape” other people’s avatars. If you thought “Oh for heaven’s sake, if you are getting raped in any online game, just put down the controller, TURN OFF THE COMPUTER, and go outside,” you were not alone. Nevertheless, gamer trolls exist and have existed long before games went online.

Trolling is the last resort of a bully who is losing at the larger games of life and consequently wants to exert total domination in the small games where he still can do damage.

The demons of the Left have won many battles and yet the war remains out of reach. The extreme antics of hate cults like Antifa and BLM have not been enough to lend an air of legitimacy; in fact, the opposite effect has occurred. Tearing down statues, a grotesque show of demonic power, only resulted in the masses becoming curious at what the Democratic Party was so desperate to hide about its own pockmarked anti-black history. Attempting to ban free speech and gun ownership made both seem more appealing, like when Tipper Gore took it upon herself to slap warning stickers on 2 Live Crew CDs in the 1980s. The last of the feverish devotees of the Left champion mask enforcement in a pathetic bid to muzzle anyone who would appear to disagree with their restrictions in the public arena. Leftists who lack the brawn or the vigor to snuff out human lives and destroy property via riots are being commandeered into the neo-Pravda campaign. The physically weak ones are easily shepherded into crusades of enforced mask-wearing, shuttered restaurants, abandoned stadiums, emptied factories, mandatory vaccinations, and eternal welfare for all.  Like the demons behind the fever dream of 80s Conservative Satanic Panic, the demons of the Left never suspected they could lose...

In my next and final post on this subject, I’ll be discussing strategies to keep oneself sane and clean of demonic influence, whether that is from leftists or elsewhere. Thank you for reading this post. I welcome your comments and I thank you in advance for not using profanity.

Hikikomori is a Japanese term that means "social drop out" and refers to a burgeoning micro class of Japanese adults. Hikikomori live with their aging parents in a flagrant rejection and reversal of hyper-competitive Japanese norms, subsisting upon parental charity as they hide away in their childhood bedrooms, occupying themselves with video games, television, and comic books. Though becoming a hikikomori seems to belie an undertow of hatred for one's parents and the society they had a part in creating, its irresistible, compelling force suggests demonic origins. Once allowed access, the hikikomori obsession plants itself in the psyche like a parasite and feeds, draining its host of vitality and the will to live. Alice, a thirty-something hikikomori who found herself relapsing into the disorder after a stint at university, observes, "It's as if the lights have been turned off. I have no willpower, no desire to do anything."

The Internal Divide

When a demonic possession is in full force, the host's personality becomes completely split from the demon/demons though they occupy the same body. A possession that began as funny raps on walls and tables and flying bric a brac escalates to convulsions, seizures, and lapses in the host's consciousness as the demon seizes control of speech, sleeping, and waking. The host cannot genuinely be blamed for what they do while possessed because they often have no idea. Trauma erects partitions in the host's consciousness and the human personality splits off from the demon, who now asserts dominion over the host. The demon decides when and if the host can reach the outside world, trapping the Personality in the prison of its own body. MK Ultra mind programming relies upon the trauma-partitioning effect in order to split the human personality into multiple, malleable personalities. In classic demonic possession, demons take on the role of the MK Ultra torturer, breaking the will of the enslaved human via a series of degrading and dehumanizing acts.

The Left now collectively finds itself in the unenviable position of hikikomori: detached, split, depressed, without willpower, in full blown addiction to acting demonic. Ideals were reneged upon long ago. The Marxist urge to uplift the the poor and working classes soured and became empty talking points and elite Boomer Not In My Backyard (NIMBY) hypocrisy. The Left has become the hated overclass it once purported to despise. A disproportionate number of leftists toil with crushing depression. Especially for young leftists, chronic anxiety is a given. Whether anxiety and depression are the result of demonic obsession, the cause of it, or both remains to be seen.

The Diminishing Returns of Addiction

Like the fictional story of Gollum I analyzed in a previous post, modern leftist behavior bears an uncanny resemblance to drug addiction. Leftists have become cargo cultists (shout out to Andrew B who brought up cargo cults in a previous post) who pine for the utopia of Progress groupthink ersatz-Marxist capitalism where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts. Leftist egos have become leviathans of blind entitlement, even among the formerly humble hippie types who have made an End Times religion out of Orange Man Bad. The predicament of the leftist individual is to see the world as hideously unfair and to see herself as The One responsible for stopping wickedness by at least standing in its way. Without irony, this responsibility is considered a heavy burden, carried virtuously and with pained dignity like Jesus with his cross.

Unlike Jesus, the long-suffering leftist periodically unburdens her titanic hatred upon her unjust targets via bad intentions, online slacktivism, foul language, and increasingly, physical violence. The addictive substance is control. Leftists transparently desire despotic authority over others and will screech in craven fits like spoiled toddlers when it is not granted to them with a gold bow on top. Because they don't believe in the existence of God/gods, blowback for one's foul intentions and deeds is seen as disappearing into a great, random void of atheist space, therefore no shaping of one's intentions is necessary. Look at any leftist group and you will reliably find the majority to be sick, malnourished via obesity or anorexia, immune-compromised, stressed out, anxious, and eerily accident prone. The same leftists, especially if they claim to be witches, will pretend blowback does not exist, or at least it doesn't for them. Yet haven't they been wishing the very ailments they suffer from upon Random Populist Leader (Trump, Boris Johnson, Bolsonaro) and his family for years? Isn't it uncanny that leftists suffer from almost every malady they've wished on Trump and his family short of death? Wouldn't it make sense to consider opposing viewpoints instead of spending the lion's share of one's time in perennial hysteria over the other side's alleged malevolence? Why maintain a fruitless addiction to exerting control over other people that completely does not work and that leaves you in a state of exhaustion, misery, and sickness?

"They were really scuffling and barely making it from one day to the next, one hour to the next, and with each day they became more desperate. Many times they were ripped off for a hundred bucks here, a few hundred there, but that was all part of that world and all they could do was get more bread and scuffle and hustle until they got the dope they needed. Many times they could only get a couple of bags and they would shoot them up and continue to try and cop more so they could have enough for Marion and Alice, but sometimes it was a long time between fixes for them. After they got off Harry and Tyrone would affirm that they would take the next stuff back to the pad, even if it was only a couple of bags, so their old ladies could have a taste, but each time they got only two bags they shot them up immediately knowing it would be better for everyone involved if they got off and stayed up here where the action was so they could get some weight and then give the girls a real taste. They knew and believed, that it was better to have nothing at all than to have less than enough and who knows what might come down when they were away from the scene. And when they got back to their pads the lies came out easily and believably." -Requiem For A Dream, Hubert Selby Jr.

All Hate, All Fear

No matter how much direct blowback they experience and no matter how slimy the average leftist's reputation has become as a result of leftist behavior over the last half-decade, leftists keep doubling down on failed takeover strategies with increasingly desperate fervor. Many, include myself, report trying to have a conversation with a leftist and being robotically purity-policed, shamed, and threatened for daring to have the mildest of dissenting opinions, and these are just the encounters among leftist friends and family.

Last week I wore a black T-shirt with four words on it: Epstein didn't kill himself. I then made the mistake of going shopping. Three different men of various ages commented they liked my shirt. The Millennial cashier at one of the few fast-casual restaurants open for a sit-down meal fumed and nearly spat into her mask; she couldn't look at me. At the hardware store, a Gen Z cashier was so incensed, he impudently slammed our merchandise into bags and acted like he was about to jump over the counter to throttle me, a petite 4'11" woman of middle age. Later that week, Jessica Doty Whittaker, age 24, was shot in the face and killed for saying "all lives matter" in front of a group of Black Lives Matter activists, orphaning her young son. I vowed not to wear the shirt in public again.

Black clad Antifa gangs physically attacked peaceful protestors in 2017 in Berkeley, and "beat them bloody" according to BerkeleySide.com. Andy Ngo, an unassuming, 165 pound gay Asian journalist, was nearly beat to death by Portland Antifa in 2019. Ngo lived to tell the tale but suffered a brain hemorrhage. Antifa members shouted "no hate, no fear" while beating Ngo to the ground and spraying various liquids in his blackened eyes.

While conservatives were being violently assaulted for exercising their free speech, leftists I knew insisted "I don't think about Trump all the time", but their well-populated social media feeds told a different tale. Wiser souls than I stayed out of it and did not question leftist narratives, especially not when the #metoo women's movement blew back in the form of Biden forcibly penetrating Tara Reid's intimate parts with his fingers and when Black Lives Matter engaged in the wholesale slaughter of black men, women, and children during its riots. None dare to call it what it is for fear of being doxxed, stalked, or murdered by the self-proclaimed righteous Good People. Just as Joel Osteen and Benny Hinn cannot look in the mirror and admit their lifestyles are more amenable to Lucifer's than they are to the other side, the Left fails to see its capitulations to tyranny, depravity, and megalomania.

I fully admit that all of the above could be normal human stupidity, no demonic assistance necessary. I wish I did not need to repeat this so often but I COULD BE WRONG. Nevertheless, just as Jung speculated in his 1936 essay Wotan that the German people had been gripped by a consciousness larger than that of normal human beings, I am suggesting it might be worth investigating the possibility of large and malignant entities jerking formerly sane mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters around like puppets on a string.

Next week I'll be talking about the final stage of acute possession and how it correlates to leftist behaviors we are seeing in real time. After that will be the last part of the series talking about the aftermath and what we can do to protect ourselves.

I welcome your comments and I thank you in advance for not using profanity.

For Social Justice Warriors, the bargain was struck. The point of entry was the brainstem, the realm of motor instincts, urges, and sheer will to survive. The Hebrew letter Qoph means "the back of the head". It is attributed to one of the Tarot trump cards called The Moon. There is another lunar card called The Priestess, but this is absolutely NOT the same moon as the Priestess. The Priestess is the illuminated side of innocence, purity, and mercy. The Moon is the darkness to her light, the cruelty to her kindness, the Sea Witch to her Little Mermaid. If the Priestess is the young girl, the Moon is the old hag.

The Crossroads

The crone lives at the crossroads where parasitic infection meets addiction. As awful as "parasitic infection meets addiction" sounds, the initial foray into an addiction is almost always exceedingly pleasant, gratifying, and satisfying in a way that makes us humans spend an inordinate amount of time trying to replicate it once its halcyon days have passed. If you've ever tried opiates, you might be familiar with the comforting, warm-blanket-and-a-hot-cup-of-cocoa sensation the opiate family provides. Opium tinctured with alcohol, a.k.a. laudanum, was "heaven bought for a penny" to Romantic poet Thomas DeQuincey; beautiful dreams for a few short months that quickly morphed into a living hell. Falling in love feels the same, often with similar results.

For me, going vegan at age 38 provided a big boost in my physical health and stamina, a rush of energy, and a small army of new BFFs to help me enjoy my newfound moral superiority. The trade off was that I became an officious, self-righteous prick determined to push my diet upon all and sundry for a time. Fortunately, I realized the error of my ways before I alienated every family member and non-fair weather friend. Not all are so lucky. Needing to be right is a hell of a drug, just ask the Seventh Day Adventist fellow I met at a cooking class who preened about like a pigeon, attributing his robust, young, genetically-predetermined health to his perfect diet and being right with God. Hubris is never pretty and for him, there was an excellent chance of his life going wrong in ways he never dreamed possible in all his supreme arrogance.

Baby Boomers, blessed with idyllic postwar childhoods, thrust themselves into passionate young adulthood. They championed sexual revolution, worked in the city and made homes in the suburbs, and looked forward to an enlightened Star Trek future. They had easy, conflict free lives. They had plenty of money for one spouse to stay home. A single, middle class income was the only ticket necessary to the American dream of a house, a car, more than ample food, and vacations once or twice a year. They deserved it because they were the Good People. They didn't pay attention as the houses got larger, the jobs got scarcer and more cutthroat, and the cars multiplied like roaches as garages swelled to accommodate them. They didn't notice the arbitrage of labor to Third World countries. They voted in the era of Reagan's excess, not the be-uncomfortable-like-Jesus Christian guy (Carter) for whom there would be no American morning. The pork went down smoothly, aided with sips of pricey pinot noir and gleeful nihilism. Meanwhile, a swarm of undulating tapeworms split into two battalions, one seeking entrance into the intestines and the other swimming towards the brain...

Birth of the SJW

Boomer children and grandchildren grew up to become today's Social Justice Warriors (SJWs). Generation X and Y have grown up monumentally angry without ever being able to divine what exactly angers them. Had they any power of self-analysis outside the societally-approved Freudian Psychoanalysis 3.0 thrown about as an expensive but necessary companion of copious prescribed antidepressant drugs, they would be able to put their finger on what ails them:

-Kept indoors long enough, any creature goes insane. Humans are no exception.
-Imagination has been replaced by online games and porn.
-Success is measured by meaningless standardized tests and the amount of house you can mortgage later for being a good little test taker.

The resulting case is an extremely entitled human with a large ego who thinks she is the Main Character but in reality is a Non-Player Character, parroting the latest cacomagic as sold by CNN, Target, Nike, and Sephora dutifully. She's depressed. Who wouldn't be? She's never had any protection from religion -- those old fashioned customs like masses, holy water, and prayer are relics of the past. She has never been taught to appreciate the luxury of potable water or fresh fruit in the wintertime. She doesn't have interest in let alone understanding of the way things work, for instance, her typical biophobic upbringing divorced her from appreciation of how food grows, how heat becomes electricity and then heat again, or how her country was founded by complicated and difficult people. So she hates, and hatred feels GOOD. She allows herself to hate a little more. She makes the decision to bully. Bullying is better than sex. Her programmers tell her to carry a sign. They tell her to block traffic and to be brave as the oppressors attempt to commute to their bourgeois jobs. They tell her to scream to get her voice heard, and if that doesn't work, to spray paint a vile expletive on the window of a shuttered local business. And if that doesn't work, to learn how to make a pipe bomb...

Smashing the Patriarchy

Social justice seeks to right perceived wrongs. Righteousness itself is their addiction. The consequences of their righteousness are not considered. At one end of the spectrum, there lies an ideal of Christian marriage that peaked in the Greatest Generation, the one that spawned the Boomers. The Left was not wrong to paint Christian marriage in the bleak tones of repression, frustration, and sorrow. Divorce used to be nearly impossible to obtain. Being gay wasn't legal. For quite a few people, traditional Christian values sucked. The Left rushed into the fray with the Final Solution for Christian family values: their opposite. The Left threw its weight into the entertainment industry, using its many cronies there to promote eternal dissatisfaction. For the oppressed black people, they ushered in the welfare system. Suddenly, it was far more financially beneficial to be a single mother. Black families, also once fans of Christian marriage, were utterly destroyed, condemned to multi-generational ghettoes. US prisons, expanded under Clinton, Bush II, and Obama, happily took in black men among others in their continuation of the Confederate plantation system hybridized with the Victorian workhouse.

They're Having a Riot

The Left found its fetish in the destruction of the ideal Christian nuclear family. It did this in three ways: it "freed" the oppressed with welfare so that the father had no role save sperm donor in the new Utopia. Secondly, it sowed the seeds of discord and consumerism via its domination of the entertainment industry, including infotainment in the form of news. Thirdly, it demoralized and gelded three generations of males via pornography, sucking away their last reserves of virility and motivation.

The inevitable result was Washington Middle School in Green Bay Wisconsin. Kerstin Westcott, a Golden Apple-winning, veteran teacher who walked away from nine years at Washington, testified that student bullies regularly:

-threatened her and other students
-fought with weapons
-vandalized cars
-spouted constant verbal abuse
-fought until bystander teachers were sent away in ambulances with serious injuries
-tortured other students
-sexually molested other students in front of crowds
-masturbated in front of teachers
-pinched, slapped, and punched other students in the chest and groin
-pantomimed crude sex acts in front of students/teacher
-set fires
-bought, sold, and used drugs

In other words, they exhibited most of the behaviors we associate with classic demonic possession. I would venture to say that Washington Middle School, which is demographically 51 percent Hispanic, 16 percent black, and 20 percent white, is rife with demons running amok. Washington is far from special in its basketcase school status. Teachers may blame the school administrators and look to them for reform, but the root of the problem lies squarely in fatherlessness. Remove the father's power and there's ample space for demons to rush in. Modern day demonic fatherlessness, that monstrous creation of the Left, cannot be stopped by a paltry set of rules dictated by a school official.

Revenge of the Nerd

The trouble with bullying is that it feels fantastic and doesn't beget regret.  Once upon a time, when I was in high school, there was a popular bully who talked smack about misfits, nerds, and geeks just loud enough for the misfit, nerd, or geek to overhear her.  This was her favorite form of torture and it was devastating.  I was born with an unfortunate talent for ad hominem attacks, so one day when I was in a bitter mood, I did the same to her.  My verbal arrows were aimed at her Achilles heel, which was her boxy, corpulent figure.  She became so upset, she cried for the teacher, who promptly shushed me.  But I wasn't done.  I lowered my volume but continued my tirade, spewing poison-tipped barbs I knew would cause her emotional pain for the rest of her life.  She got a hefty dose of her own medicine and I am nearly certain she never used her talking smack technique again, but she wasn't the only one dragged down by our interaction.  Bullying masquerades as justice.  For the weak, especially those who are told they are oppressed and deserve handouts, it's a power trip.  Power feels good, especially when you view the Other as worthless, fat, stupid, and deserving of your wrath.  Wrath has its price: it is a crappy place to live.  Being hated for being just another bully as well as a nerd only added to my malaise as a teen.  Considering my greatest fear back then was the predicament of being misunderstood, joining in the bully's fray only made a bad situation worse.  I could have displayed far more bravery by rising above the bully and refusing to dignify her situation with my words.  Make no capitulation to demonic obsession and the infection is defeated.

Power feels great.  Righteousness after what seems an eternity of not having the courage of one's own convictions feels like heaven, like the greedy heights of an addiction.  The peak of any addiction, however, is the prelude to hell.

I believe that the Left as we know it is plagued by demons.  I realize that most people don't have an opinion on demons as they probably don't believe in them.  I also fully acknowledge, as always, that I could be wrong.  I believe the average leftist is beset by ancient, non-embodied creatures of exceptional power and cunning.  These creatures are called demons and their key characteristics are:

  1. They dwell on a plane that is best described as "lower" or more dense than the planes upon which we can perceive the world around us.  They have been with us since time began; in fact, they seem to be a much older race of beings than humans.  Qabbalists say are outcasts or shells leftover from a previous Universe.
  2. They hate humankind and are simultaneously jealous of us.  They will do whatever they can to trick us and hurt us, whether this is individually or in large groups.  Because of their intense hatred of mankind, when they do choose to interact with us, it tends to be with us acting as the host and them acting as the parasite.
  3. They absolutely cannot be defeated by sinking to their dense and scummy level; in fact, the only thing they are afraid of is when we align ourselves with higher and more complex forces who can and will squelch their activities.

In the upcoming series of essays, I plan on explaining my theory that individual leftists are suffering from severe demonic obsession, which is a symptom of a greater disease of demonic possession that afflicts the Left as a group.  The Left is not the first group of people to be possessed by demons and it certainly won't be the last.

Demonic Obsession Vs. Demonic Possession

Demonic obsession is different than classic demonic possession, where the victim is able to contort their body in strange ways, can speak languages they've never heard before, and barks obscenities day and night.  Demonic obsession can be just as deadly as demonic possession, but in general it is far more subtle, contagious, and therefore more insidious than possession.  The demonically obsessed are best described as herd narcissists who refuse to engage in any form of self-reflection or self-analysis.  They are consumed by hatred, but because of their willful ignorance of their own motivations, will project the shadow onto the hated Other and in turn be eaten alive by repressed anger at their own hypocrisy and dissonance.  Their external dialogue becomes one of censorship, because internally they are censoring their own dissonance.  This is where demons can enjoy an energy buffet of anger and spiraling despair as the obsessed person walls herself off from redemption and seeks ever new lows of depravity in which to devolve.  For instance, leftists who could not censor their own projected shadow in the form of racism (theirs happens to be anti-white racism) have sunk to a new lowest common denominator of endorsing Black Lives Matter rioters and looters.  Five years ago, they would not have been debased enough to say "theft and vandalism is OK", but given enough time to immerse themselves in the demonic, they're boldly and publicly signing on to demonic behavior.

In the 1980s, it was ironically the Christian Right that became demon-possessed as a group. Herd narcissism in the name of Jesus manifested itself in conservative rhetoric and leadership.  The entity being appeased wasn't Jesus.  Jesus said "By their fruits ye shall know them."  Mentally ill people were dumped into the streets en masse by an arms dealing, junta-funding Reagan as the Christian right hoarded wealth for itself and covered up the priestly class's child molestation habits. Just like the Left projects its own shadow now and then proceeds to melt down in paranoid hysteria, the Right was once known for doing the same thing.  The Left has its pet boogeymen of the Patriarchy, racism, fascism, and COVID to panic over where the Right once had illegal drugs, abortion, and the Satanic Panic to splatter upon headlines and newscasts.  The Right was once the go-to source for Luciferian arrogance and complete intolerance of dissenting views.  Factions among the Right still cling to the old bon mots of anti-drug and anti-abortion paranoia, but for the present time, these cause celebres are considered somewhat vestigial and out of date.

"But Kimberly," you say, "These actions by groups are just par for the course human failings, not the grandiose actions of a supernatural demonic force."  There is a fine line where normal human foibles end and demonic influences begin, and that line isn't easy to detect.  Demonic obsession isn't in-your-face like demonic possession, but that does not make it illegitimate.  The path of herd narcissism and its accompanying arrogance is what Dion Fortune described as the Left-Hand Path.  The Left-Hand Path leads towards devolution, simplification, and decay.  It is the path of dismantling, breaking down, and going backwards.  When a person or a group of people make the decision (whether consciously or subconsciously) to blindly pursue power and the rush it provides at all costs, they have entered the Left-Hand Path.  The Left-Hand Path also happens to attract demons, who are more than happy to assist with the devolutionary process and feed upon its cast off energy.

The Invitation

Nevertheless, as I said in the title of this essay, nobody gets in without an invitation.  Demonic possession does not happen by itself.  The perverse truth about demonic possession is that it is always initially allowed by the possessed person, no matter how badly they regret their decision later.  Folklore points in this direction: the vampire who cannot cross the threshold of the house without being invited, the fairies who cannot keep the mortal within their realm unless he chooses to eat fairy food.  Tragic, horrific, and deadly possessions like that of Anneliese Michel (the true story that became the film The Exorcism of Emily Rose) and of "Roland Doe" (the true story that became the film The Exorcist) could not happen without the acquiescence of the victim in the beginning stages.  In the Michel case, the door was probably opened by Anneliese's disproportionate, dysmorphic sense of Catholic guilt -- she often slept on a cold, hard floor in an attempt to atone for the sins of others.  It is easy to imagine her inviting a demon into her psyche if it promised to grant her the power of truly paying for the sins of others.  Some victims of possession invite the demon in because they believe the demon will give them goodies and toys God would not grant.  I think for many of the possessed, I think their initial welcome of demons is simply a matter of wanting desperately to be the center of attention.

In the case of the religious Right, their invitation was spurred by their naked lust for power.  Their domineering, one size fits all approach to worship and cantankerous declamations of judgement for anyone who dared stray outside their warped interpretation of Bible theory laid out a welcome mat for entities promising millions of converts and undue influence on economic policy.  The price tag -- completely turning their backs on the authentic teachings of Jesus Christ -- never occurred to them until it was too late.  By the 1990s, the hypocrisy of the religious Right was a caricature: Dana Carvey as The Church Lady, morbidly concerned about what other people did in the privacy of their own bedrooms and utterly convinced the average person was destined to fry in eternal hell.

Belief in the Unseen Hand

In the case of the largely atheist and secular Left, the promise of infinite Progress was the demonic lure.  Just as Christians believe God will deliver them, atheists believe in the power of the free market or Progress will grant their wishes, and if not the wishes, the wishes of their descendants.  The bottom line is both the hyper-religious and the anti-religious don't believe they have to act in the concrete, material world for the result of their will to appear.  If they want a thing fervently and it fails to appear, the religious person turns to more fervent prayer and the thought-stopper "God works in mysterious ways". The atheist cements his resolve in the thought-stopper that God does not exist.  Belief in any power higher than oneself and one's will becomes an insult to humanism.  Both the atheist and the Christian believe in the Unseen Hand.  There is zero discernment or refinement of one's own intentions.  There is no aim or construction of concrete actions to move toward the desired goal.  God and/or Progress is a cosmic Santa Claus and it's all supposed to happen by magic like it does in Harry Potter.

Muddled intentions draw the atheist and the Christian into a place of deep and embittered narcissism.  Lonely and arrogant, the believer thinks he is at the top of an elite pile of intellectual superiority when he is actually blind and in the corner of a maze.  Like the avant garde musician with his "music" of electronic fart noises and random clinking of keys, there is the delusion of achievement.  From this vantage point, animism is impossible, because it involves the acknowledgement and respect of powers who are either indifferent or possibly superior to one's own self.  The Evangelical Christian doesn't allow for the world to be imbued with a spiritual, non-corporeal ecosystem, because all instances of ghosts, fairies, or gods other than the Christian one are manifestations of the Devil.  The atheist similarly dismisses the non-corporeal ecosystem because non-physical phenomena are not allowed according to materialist science. Without the basic "magical Kindergarten" of recognizing non-corporeal entities and the spirit of place, the believer in atheism and the Christian are spiritually stunted and ripe for demonic obsession.  To make matters worse, they may be trapped in an egotistical imbalance of trying to write the spiritual equivalent of a symphony before they have written a three-chord song.

Thought-stoppers as Preparation for Demonic Infestation

Using binary thought-stoppers in the Christian sense (there is God and everything else is the Devil) or in the atheist sense (God doesn't conform to my expectations, therefore God does not exist) naturally open those using the thought-stoppers to demonic obsession.  For those enveloped in the Progress narrative, their struggles are not learning opportunities for improvement because God in the guise of Progress owes them an easy life, however, God does not exist.  In their minds, they are always bargaining for a better deal, whether it is the Evangelical using the cosmic vending machine approach to prayer or the atheist, who is compelled to amass all the goodies because "you only live once".  They are reaching out to someone, but it's not the someone they were expecting.

Enter demons.  Demons can feed upon entire groups, in fact, I believe this is the way they prefer to feed.  Why settle for a single, troubled pre-teen in a country backwater when you can have entire football stadiums of crazed lunatics to suck  energy from?  The religious Right used to provide the juicy hysteria and vile behavior preferred by demons, whether it was via the energetic Prosperity Gospel sermons of Joel Osteen to fill Mammon's tanks or the picketing of fallen soldiers funerals by the Westboro Baptist Church to satisfy the appetites of Galamiel.

The Left, having thrown away all but the pretenses of helping the working class, has signed a deal in blood with what it thinks is the promise of infinite Progress.  Leftists put their faith in career politicians for the span of more than 40 years, only to find their cluelessness blowing up in their face in an unexpected age of populism.  Thought-stoppers opened it to demonic possession as a group and demonic obsession as individuals.  There is no mystery in the race towards the bottom of current leftist behavior: the parasites feeding on their addled minds and spirits yank the strings and tell them to riot, to shout obscenities, to scream in to the air, and by all means necessary to avoid self-reflection.

Invitation is only the first foray of demons into the Left.  I see demonic infestation as a five part process, which is why you can expect this post to turn into a series.  The five phases of demonic infestation are:

1. The Invitation.  Consent is the sine qua non of any demonic infestation.  It may happen by trickery and guile but there is always consent.

2. The Honeymoon Phase.  Demons are great liars and they promise glory.  This is the glow phase of the relationship before the parasite/host relationship takes its inevitable turn.

3. Numbness and Fracture.  The personality splits and infighting begins.  The host is beginning to diminish.

4. Acute Possession and Derangement.  The war is in full throttle and only one side will win.  The demon is fighting for its place and the host is fighting for their life.

5. Aftermath.  What can be expected both in terms of blowback and thoughts on strategies for protecting oneself from the demonically obsessed.

Thanks for reading my essays.  I look forward to your comments.  If you do choose to comment, please refrain from the use of obscenities.
