I find it quite amusing post apocalyptic fiction never looks as run down as a poor inner city neighbourhood. The fact that so many people watching it don’t seem to notice just how nice the areas are is astonishing; that really says something about the people watching those shows. I can’t help but wonder about the kinds of people who watch this sort of show, and the bizarre fact that apparently even the post apocalyptic world must look nice.
The thing I enjoy the most about it is the ability to find out what’s happening, without it being curated by the official media. The sheer diversity of content is amazing. It’s also quite neat to be able to see what people are up to, and what people are thinking. I’m not sure how much longer the open internet will last though. I expect that it’ll die long before the internet as a whole does.
